"Pictoplasma", a collection by the eponymous Berlin-based project, presents a comprehensive overview of this truly global graphic language and illustrates the remarkable status figures (the picto element) with lively traits and faces (plasma) have achieved in our society.
You should bear in mind that many of the characters are more than just random designs in most of the works shown across the chapters here. They are their designers" little trademarks, and they stick in our memories. It doesn"t matter if they"re exploited commercially or simply function as signs or sympathy seekers, in many cases a great deal of effort has gone into creating them. And for this reason alone the designers responsible would certainly be pleased to have some feedback.
