Its Inauguration Exhibition features 225 Chinese Ceramics, 90 pieces of Chinese Metalwares and over 40 pieces of Chinese Decorative Art such as lacquer, bamboo carvings, softstone carvings and gourds.
Every item in the Inaugural Exhibition is illustrated by at least one colour photograph in the two volume Exhibition Catalogue. Most Exhibits are accompanied by two illustrations as well as a full description. The Exhibition Catalogue also contains lengthy essays by Brian S. McEIney with Chinese translations.
Volume I covers the 225 Chinese Ceramic Exhibits which date from around 2500 BC to around 1820 AD.Volume II covers 90 Chinese Metalwares and over 40 Chinese Decorative Art objects with essays written in English with Chinese translations on metalwares, lacquers, soft stone carvings, bamboo carvings and gourds.
