解放军外国语学院英语专业建立于1949年，学科体系健全，是全国和全军的重点学科，拥有博士后科研流动站和博士学位授权点；师资力量雄厚，目前有近30名教师具有博士学位；教学质量上乘，在全国英语统测中成绩一直名列前茅；科研学术活跃，学风严谨，成果丰硕。

多义词是语言哲学、语言学以及心理学广为探讨的话题。人们之所以对多义词感兴趣是由于它涉及许多领域，如多义词与同形异义词的区别，多义词与模糊含义之间的界限，翻译、词典学等语义学的实际运用领域，以及外语教学等。

本研究对于多义词研究具有重要的理论意义；对于词典编撰和EFL教学具有一定的指导意义。本研究提出的理论框架、所使用的研究方法以及得到的结果弥补了对EFL学习者多义词心理表征研究的不足，对于词典条目中的多义词义项编排以及同形异义词的处理提供了心理依据，对于EFL学习者习得多义词词义具有重要的启示。
