2012年2月ISO/TC268成立以来不断加快城市可持续发展国际标准研制步伐。截至2017年底，ISO/TC268已经发布国际标准9项，在研13项。为推动ISO/TC268城市可持续发展国际标准在全球范围内的实施，ISO/TC268成立了TG2，并支持杭州成立了“全球可持续发展标准化城市联盟”。
