本书主要结合土建专业的特点，涉及工程力学、工程结构、建筑材料、路桥施工、结构抗震、环境工程、工程合同与项目管理等领域。此外，本书也对科技英语的特点及一些主要阅读技巧进行了阐述，以便于学生较快地掌握科技英语的阅读技巧，提高科技英语的阅读能力。
