The Measure is a fascinating insight into the thoughts and working lives of an eclectic and prolific cross-section of fashion and design practitioners, academics and historians, in a series of articles and interviews, commissioned by London College of Fashion during its centenary year.
Reflecting on the effect London has had upon their respective practices, a fist of renowned contributors that includes Manolo Blahnik, Nick Knight, Vivienne Westwood, Jimmy Choo, Paul Smith, Alexandra Shulman, Zandra Rhodes and Suzy Menkes share old memories and fresh insights into the nature of fashion as a global industry.
The book is a collage of many things newly commissioned photo shoots, archive pieces, conversations and personal snapshots - together they form a visual essay that is a measure of fashion's contribution to contemporary British culture.
