At a certain point, I always end up turning to the buildings, the settings ofsculptures. Tegner's Museum, his own piece ofarchitecture. Rodin's home, house and workshop combined, and now Thorvaldsen's Museum. It is as though it is difficult to keep hold of-the sculptures all on their own. It is a curious paradox that I have no difficulty in seeing and remembering paintings irrespective of their settings, but I cannot really retain free-standing objects such as - in this case - sculptures separated from their "system".
