　　本片以敏锐的笔触，描绘现代都市女性面对爱情抉择的心境…，对婚姻议题，亦有知性的探讨。
　　故事女主角琳莎(艾斯黛拉·沃伦 饰)不但美丽，更具备才智，然而，身为新时代女性、走在时代尖端的她，却对伴随婚姻而来的承诺与责任感到却步，而频频逃避与未婚夫的这段感情。
　　不过，虽感到彷徨，她却也主动寻找解决之道，透过与心理治疗师(乌比·戈德堡 饰)的双向互动，她逐渐了解婚姻的本质，并听从心理治疗师的建议，休息一个月，参加男女联谊活动。
　　在活动期间，她认识了A﹒J(贾斯汀·柯克 饰)，两人相当聊得来，透过倾诉与互动，琳莎深深体会，互相扶持才是夫妻生活的长久之道，而非彼此压迫。
　　调整好心态的琳莎，眼看已准备好去面对未婚夫…，但心中却有个声音，彷佛在对她说，A﹒J才是她今生的真命天子…，心中已对A﹒J念念不忘的琳莎，顿时陷入两难…。
　　于纽约曼哈顿拍摄的本片，充满怡人的纽约都市风情，另外，《第六感生死恋》奥斯卡得主乌比·戈德堡亦参与演出。
