　　2001年的威尼斯电影节上，印度女导演米拉．奈尔（Mira Nair）开始为世界影坛关注，她的《季风婚宴》获得了金狮大奖。米拉．奈尔早年以《早安孟买》成名，并拍摄了我们熟悉的《爱经》等作品。《男人最疼》（The Perez Family）是她1995年一部通过古巴流亡移民的题材，描写自由、家庭与爱情的影片。男主人公浩安．帕莱兹从古巴来到美国，想在"自由国土"上找到自己原有的家庭。但为了对付移民局的检查，他又不得不"组成"另一个"临时家庭"，先是风骚、热情的女郎杜蒂做妻子，又找来也姓帕莱兹的疯癫老人做父亲，以及"失散多年"的"儿子"。影像中仿佛透出奈尔柔软的目光，故事在温暖的情调中结束……
