本次修订保留了《每课一练》原有的特色，即与相应课本教学进程同步，紧扣教学要求和知识训练点，针对学习重点和难点，安排适量与恰当的习题，每课配一练习，每章配一综合测试卷，期中期末各配一份模拟试卷。所编习题均符合新颖、灵活、精当的要求。每课练习分为“基础训练”和“提高训练”两级。本次修订还特别注意兼顾日常学习和复习应考的不同需求，课时练习装订成书，侧重于夯实基础；单元测试卷和期中期末模拟试卷，成活页形式附在书中，侧重于能力提升。书中还选编了近年全国部分省市的中考真题，可帮助同学们对自己的学习做出整体评价和针对性调整。
