厉声主编的《中国新疆：历史与现状（英文版）》由中国社科院中国边疆史地研究中心研究员厉声等人撰稿。本书以尊重史实、分清是非，立足现实、落笔历史为主旨，重点阐述与新疆稳定、发展相关的新疆历史与现状。其具体内容包括多民族区域的历史发展、多元文化的继承与并存、行省建制下的新疆、新疆和平解放、民族区域自治、区域经济的现代化等。本书内容最初于2003年由新疆人民出版社出版，2006年再版。此次重新出版，在原书基础上进行了修订增补，将有利于帮助读者更正确地认识新疆问题。
