　　国家地理频道的《杀死耶稣》（Killing Jesus）是一部长达三小时的电视电影，也可看做一部四集迷你剧。国家地理频道杀了林肯，杀了肯尼迪，又要开始杀耶稣。在成功将纪实小说《杀死林肯》（Killing Lincoln）和《杀死肯尼迪》（Killing Kennedy）改编成传记电影后，国家地理频道于去年3月宣布改编另一本畅销纪实小说：《杀死耶稣》。现在凡是跟宗教和《圣经》沾点边的节目都是电视荧屏上的热门节目（简直可以用「热得发烫」来形容），国家地理频道的决定在情理之中。《杀死耶稣》说的是耶稣受难（被钉死在十字架上）的起因、经过和结果，已经被拍过无数次了。国家地理频道预订该项目时原版小说尚未上市（半年后才上市），如同去年许多根据小说改编的电视节目一样，制片方提前拿到了改编权。该剧在全球171个国家使用45种语言同时播出，拍摄过程中动用了250名剧组成员和4500名临时演员（群众演员），有台词的角色多达93名，是国家地理频道迄今为止投入最大的一个项目。
      故事起源于耶稣的诞生，当时希律王正统治朱迪亚地区的犹太人，但他始终感觉自己的权力受到威胁。希律王下令杀死所有年纪在2岁以下的婴儿，但是耶稣的家人已经带着他逃走了。26年之后，耶稣的宗教理念已经广为流传，他有了一大批手机游戏软件下载的信徒。与此同时，新的政坛人物对耶稣的影响力同样感到恐惧——其中包括希律王的儿子安提帕斯和罗马委任的犹太总督彼拉多。犹太神庙中的宗教领袖该亚法和亚纳斯同样质疑耶稣传播的教义和思想。由于使徒犹大的出卖，耶稣最终遭到逮捕，被钉死在十字架上。他的尸体被埋葬在一个无人看守的坟墓中。当他的追随者数日之后前来为他的尸体施膏油时，尸体却已不知去向。「拿撒勒的耶稣」（Jesus of Nazareth）尸体究竟何在？这至今仍是个千古之谜。

Emmanuelle Chriqui扮演希罗底（Herodias），希律-安提帕斯的妻子，希律二世的前妻，她操纵丈夫和女儿杀死了施洗者约翰。
Eoin Macken扮演希律-安提帕斯（Antipas），加利利与佩雷亚之王，害死耶稣的阴谋者之一。
John Rhys Davies扮演亚纳斯（Annas），耶稣被捕后第一个审讯他的耶路撒冷大祭司。
