余太山辑注的《嚈哒史料辑注(英文版)》汇集了关于嚈哒的九种语言（汉文、希腊－拉丁文、亚美尼亚文、叙利亚文、阿拉伯文、波斯文、梵文、藏文）70种史料。在收集各种语文的史料时，不仅注意收集其现代语言的译文，也注意收集原文。对于本研究的目的而言，这些出自历史语言学专家之手的译文和原文是等值的。本书在充分利用语言学家成果的基础上，通过辑注的形式，将各种语文的嚈哒史料熔铸于一炉。本书是国内外学者首次对嚈哒史料进行的最为全面系统的整理和研究。
