《综合教程》初版于2004年面世，2008年开始修订，第二版于2011年完成出版十几年间，在全国各地高等院校的英语专业中得到广泛使用，并得到广大师生的认可。这是第三次修订。本书为学生用书的第3册修订，单元数从14单元改为12单元，其中2个单元为全新单元。除新单元外，个别TEXT B也替换。练习做了一定幅度的修改，并在课前添加了音视频或形式多样的活动作为导引。本书为第4册学生用书，供高校英语专业学生使用。
