本书是在中国元宝枫与人类健康的基础上翻译的英文著作，分为7章。全书内容科学性强，论述严谨，数据及实验分析精准，是介绍中国元宝枫及其对人类有益作用的重要的科学论著。元宝枫作为一种纯天然、无公害、高营养的“药食两用”树种，必将成为开发保健品和药品的重要产品。

高锦明，男，1963年出生。中国植物学会植物化学及资源学专业委员会委员，陕西省化学会常务理事、西北农林科技大学理学院院长，化学与分子工程系教授，博士生导师。获中国科学院昆明植物研究所植物化学专业博士学位，在加拿大科学院生物技术研究所做访问学者和博士后。主要从事植物资源活性成分的研究与开发工作。在《Chemic al Review》、《Natural Product Reports》等国际核心刊物上发表论文200余篇，曾主持多项国家、省部级科研项目，获省、部级奖3项，获发明专利12项，出版专著及主、参编教材6部。人选教育部“新世纪优秀人才支持计划”，享受国务院特殊津贴。
