孩子小学毕业，马上要升入初中了，对家长来说，很想知道孩子的实际水平如何；对学生来说，很想知道中学的学习如何；对教师来说，很想检验一下自己的教学水准如何。为此，我们专门组织了上海市语文、数学、外语、自然、社会等学科有经验的教师和教研员，本着入门是宗旨，自测是裁体，提高是目标的编写的，以课程标准为依据，以学习方法和综合能力的提高为主线，按照语文、数学、外语、综合四门学科，分门别类给出25份卷子。让学生通过自我检测、自我评定，以解实际水准如何，为进入初中学习作好心理、能力、知识上的准备，满怀信心地迈入中学大门。
