目前，法律语言学（Legal Language或the Language of Law）在中国蓬勃发展，特别是以英语作为介质的法律英语（Legal English或the EnglishLanguage of Law）更是飞速发展。同时，世界政治、法律、经济、贸易、金融、文化等交流活动更加频繁，也为法律英语的学习带来了便利，法律文件的翻译活动也日渐普及，为此，法律英语相关教材不断问世，但如何更好地教会学生实际应用这门语言的教科书在国内相对鲜见。基于此，我们在编写了多种法律英语教材的基础上重新设计和编写了本教程，宋雷和郑达轩主编的《法律英语高级教程》旨在让读者认识“真正的”为“法律人”（Lawyer）所适用的法律语言，帮助他们切实提高法律英语水平，期望他们最终能掌握和比较熟练地应用法律英语从而开展各类工作或研究。
