I am often asked if I remember my favorite T-shirt from childhood. Actually, I don't. I had been selling them since I was a teenager, but it wasn't until I got into the vintage end of the business that I said, "We can't sell this T-shirt! It's the Police! The Police!!!"(It was from the 1983 North American tour, to be precise.) I grew up on the Police. I had imagined myself singing and playing guitar in front of 20,000 people as a member of the band. We couldn't sell this shirt. It was part my youth, part my life.
