Mark Gowing's "Hopscotch Compendium" is one of the many exemplary works in this book that demonstrates a filling use of 3-D treatment in 2-D format. Here, abstract sculptures in different materials were the focus of the posters to provoke thought on the role of films as an art form, which aptly promotes Hopscotch Films as a leader in the art-house cinema scene. By having the figure of singer Kate Nash superimposed on the images of a series of rooms within a hand-built dollhouse, artist Chrissie Macdonald created a backdrop with every element and illustration of each room included, for her album cover that perfectly reflects her song lyrics and lhe personal and homegrown musical inspiration. But not every work is worthy of attention only for its tight link between agenda and execution.
