本书是《全国高职高专教育十一五规划教材》系列之一的《电子信息类专业英语》分册，全书共15课，每课分为Passage A和Passage B。Passage A为教学用课文，Passage B为课后学生阅读材料。所有材料均节选自英文原文资料，其内容具有很强的专业性、实用性和技术先进性，且英文句型简单，难度不大，适合我国高职高专院校学生阅读学习，也可作为应用型本科院校的简明教材和电子信息技术工程技术人员的自学材料。
