本教材共有10个单元，每个单元分为3个模块。第一模块为学术英语写作基本结构内容，属于理论讲解部分；第二模块为展现第一模块论文结构的完整学术论文，是理论在论文中的应用；第三模块为学术写作技巧，为学术写作的微技能讲解，旨在从语言层面提升写作能力。每一模块都配有相应的练习，通过练习加深学生对相关内容的理解。除此以外，教材中还增加了中国科学家模块，提升学生对中国科学家科学精神的认知，厚植爱国主义情怀，增强科技报国信念。
本教材既适用于普通高校的本科生，同样适用于研究生阶段的学术写作训练，为论文写作与发表奠定基础。
