◎简　　介　

　　1844年，生活在美国康涅狄格州格林威治附近的农家女Miranda Wells（Gene Tierney），收到一封来自上流社会的表哥Nicholas Van Ryn (Vincent Price)的信，Nicholas希望Miranda可以到其宅邸Dragonwyck这里担任女儿的家庭教师，一心憧憬上流社会生活的Miranda欣然前往，却不料在刚到的第一晚就听到了流传在Dragonwyck的灵异传闻，但Miranda并未当真。一段时间后，Nicholas的妻子忽然离奇去世，当天晚上，Nicholas向Miranda表达了自己对她的爱意，但Miranda觉得自己不该在此时接受Nicholas的爱，所以选择离开Dragonwyck，却不知她的命运已被深深卷入Dragonwyck的诅咒之中。
