　　手机游戏软件下载探险，对神秘宝藏充满了憧憬的李登布罗克教授（詹姆斯·梅森 James Mason 饰）在无意之中发现了一张历史悠久的羊皮纸，羊皮纸上记载了一位名叫阿尔纳的男子曾经前往地心探险的路线图。欣喜若狂的李登布罗克教授当即决定重走趟充满了危险和未知的地心之旅。
　　尽管遭到了朋友们的强烈反对，李登布罗克教授还是带着侄子毅然决然地出发了。两人的旅途始于德国汉堡，之后，来自冰岛的汉斯（Peter Ronson 饰）成为了他们可靠的向导。三人来到了斯奈菲尔火山口，从此进入地表之下，在长达三个月的旅程中经历了种种光怪陆离的现象，遇见了无数千奇百怪的动植物，甚至邂逅了神秘的种族。
