◎简　　介　

　　故事取材自辛普生夫人沃利斯生平事迹，是麦当娜继2008年《下流与智慧》之后执导的第二部影片，制片成本几乎都是她一个人自掏腰包，影片的总投入达到了3600万美元。
　　影片采取双线结构的，一条讲述英王爱德华八世（詹姆斯·达西 James D'Arcy 饰）和美国女人沃丽丝·辛 普森（安德丽亚·瑞斯波罗格 Andrea Riseborough 饰）之间的传奇罗曼史。“不爱江山爱美人”爱德华以爱情为名却让沃丽丝一生背负了所有的骂名。另一条线是1998年，纽约女子沃丽·维特若普（艾比·考尼什 Abbie Cornish 饰）在面对丈夫冷暴力的同时，着迷于沃丽丝和爱德华的爱情故事。她收集一切关于沃丽丝的资料，一遍又一遍地参观沃丽丝遗物拍卖会的展览。而在多次参观展览馆后邂逅了那里的保安（奥斯卡·伊撒克 Oscar Isaac 饰），让她找到了许久不见的热情。
