简　　介  

　　十六岁的帕蒂（克里斯蒂娜·里奇 Christina Ricci 饰）正值叛逆的年龄，个性高傲的她谁都不放在眼里，唯一在乎和手机游戏软件下载的是自己饲养的一只名叫“DC”的宠物猫。每当夜幕降临，生性自由的DC都会偷偷地溜出门外，一次误打误撞之中，它竟然光顾了一宗绑架案的案发现场。受害人将DC看做了最后一根救命稻草，将刻有求救信息的表留在了DC的身上。
　　很快，帕蒂就发现了神秘的求救信号，她将这一消息报告给了当地的警局，却被当做是恶作剧给赶了出来。一气之下，帕蒂来到了波士顿寻找FBI警探，为了打发这个小鬼头，警局任命糊涂警探瑞吉（Doug E. Doug 饰）负责此案，一男一女一只猫开始了他们惊心动魄的大调查。
