本教材主要由两大部分组成：一是与学生学习、生活有关的日常口语部分；二是与学生所学专业有关的专业英语部分。日常口语部分(Daily Oral English)包含18个单元，每个单元分为对话、常用表达、练习和知识延伸四个模块。该部分以口语实际应用为目的，侧重培养学生在日常生活中的听、说、读、练能力。专业英语部分(Professional English)包含10个单元，每个单元分为对话、专业术语、知识延伸和阅读四个模块。该部分编者依据技工院校专业设置，通过与各专业课教师一一对接，针对各专业核心要点，查阅各种资料，收录各专业近期新、很实用的英语词汇和术语，侧重培养学生相关专业的英语应用能力，以适应不同工作岗位的需要，为今后的可持续发展打好基础。
