中华文化是世界最主要文化形态之一，为人类文明作出过重要贡献。王蒙著的《中国人的思路（英文版）》按照“要努力展示中华文化独特魅力”这一根本要求，围绕中华传统文化走向世界、走向现代化这一主题，从整体论和专题论两个层面，对中华传统文化的整体风貌、价值取向、美学特征、当代命运、与现代文化精神的对接等，展开多维度、多层面探析和阐释。

王蒙，1934年10月生于北京，祖籍河北南皮，当代著名作家、学者。历任《人民文学》杂志主编、文化部部长、中国作协副主席及名誉主席。著有长篇小说《青春万岁》《活动变人形》及中、短篇小说近百部，有《王蒙文集》45卷1600万字。曾获意大利“蒙德罗国际文学奖”特别奖、日本创价学会和平与文化奖，以及诺贝尔文学奖提名。长篇小说《这边风景》获2015年茅盾文学奖。
