《2022中国艺术发展报告》由中国文联组织编写，注重报告的学术性，坚持专业性与系统性，体现原创性与时代性，凝聚了中国文联所属各全国文艺家协会和有关研究机构、艺术团体和相关部门专家学者的心血。报告由表及里、逐层解剖，注重思考和评析，进行深层次的解读，敏锐把握2022年度中国艺术发展的脉搏。报告延续去年框架体例，立足百年变局和世纪疫情交织的复杂形势，全面展示了中国艺术发展总况和戏剧、电影、音乐、美术、曲艺、舞蹈、民间文艺、摄影、书法、杂技、电视、文艺评论、网络文艺、文艺志愿服务一年来的发展成就，重点论述疫情下的艺术发展态势以及由此带来的艺术与科技、艺术与互联网等当下文艺热点现象，深入剖析存在问题，研判中国艺术发展趋势，较好地呈现了2022年度中国文艺发展的全貌。报告已经连续推出九年，已经成为展现现代中国艺术发展的一个重要窗口和平台，产生了十分广泛的社会影响，得到社会各界好评，成为艺术行业年度发展报告的重要出版物。
