《大学英语农耕文化阅读教程》旨在培养学生的阅读习惯，提升学生的阅读技能和实战能力，同时弘扬中华传统农耕文化，传递中国现代农耕智慧，兼顾文化传承与创新，体现优秀文化传统与鲜明时代特色。
教材题材聚焦中国农耕文化主题，涉及农业方面的历史、经济、文化、教育、科技等内容，有助于拓展学生的词汇量，加强其对农业文化与知识的学习。
《大学英语农耕文化阅读教程》共4册，每册8个单元。根据学生水平，教材由易到难，按册分为1～4级。第1册以“农耕节日、古代农业文明”为主题选材，长篇阅读800词左右；第2册以“农业文学、文化、人物”为主题选材，长篇阅读800词左右；第3册以“生态文明建设、乡村振兴”为主题选材，长篇阅读900词左右；第4册以“农业科技、智慧农业”为主题选材，长篇阅读1000词左右。
各册均采用“主题式”单元结构，每单元内所有内容围绕同一主题展开。每单元由三大部分组成。第一部分为1篇长篇阅读，文章后设有2个练习：Exercise A为词汇练习题，词汇全部来自阅读文章；Exercise B为阅读练习题，交替使用选择题和四、六级考试新题型中的信息匹配题。长篇阅读生词量控制在1％～3％，采用汉语内注方式。第二部分为阅读理解练习：Section A为2篇短文，配有选择理解题；Section B为选词填空题。两种阅读练习长度均为350～450词，采用“单项选择”和“选词填空”的形式，既与四、六级考试接轨，又便于课堂即时练习或学生自主练习。第三部分为农耕文化阅读，每篇短文长度在350～500词，设计有翻译题和讨论题。
此外，书中偶数单元后还加入阅读方法指导和解题技巧介绍，帮助学生掌握正确的阅读方法和阅读技巧。
另外，书后的练习答案给出了题目的详细解析，便于学生自主学习时参考。
《大学英语农耕文化阅读教程》供大学英语课程第1至4学期使用。教师可根据具体情况在课堂上使用或安排学生自主学习。本套教材适合非英语专业的本、专科生使用，也适合研究生和具有中等以上英语水平的广大英语爱好者学习或培训使用。
