根据联合国经济和社会事务部人口司发布《2018版世界城镇化展望》，目前世界上有55%的人口居住在城市地区，至2050年，这一比例将达到68%。城市在保持生物多样性以及提供生态系统服务方面可以发挥重要作用。本书从城市生物多样性的保护政策、保护途径、保护基础、湿地恢复、公众参与以及其他一些典型技术等多个方面，选取了数十个城市保护生物多样性典型案例，简要介绍了案例情况，并整理案例亮点和适用范围，供其他城市参考借鉴。全书由案例组成，案例包括案例背景、案例描述和适用范围几部分内容。本书为英文版。
