　　导演走的是“猎奇电影”路线，力图在片中创造一个仿真的食人族，并以“假纪录片”的方式让饰演食人族的演员逼真地演出“肚破肠流”的恶心镜头。由于拍得太逼真，以至导演德奥达托因本片面临法律起诉。他无法让意大利政府相信“本片纯属虚构”，间接证明本片在特技化妆、摄影、剪接等方面的确表现出凌厉的效果。票房爆冷的美国独立电影《女巫布莱尔》就是模仿本片的“纪录片”模式而[1]  成功。
