◎简　　介

　　夜晚，一对情侣骑摩托在漆黑的乡间公路上行进着，突然，车子被抛到了路边，受伤的女孩Terry被农夫Vincent Smith所救。第二天，他告诉女孩她男友已经遇难，被他埋葬了（后来当地的警察说，这是合情理的），并安慰女孩勇敢地生活下去，于是，Terry在他家休养。Vincent是什么人呢？他与妹妹Ida一同经营着一家乡间旅馆，是一个观念很保守的人。晚上有时他会到公路上制造车祸，把伤者拉回他的旅馆，像南瓜一般“种”在仓库地下，只露出脑袋，并让略懂艺术的Ida把伤者的声带割去。他做这件事已经30年了，受害者数量可想而知。不知情的Terry感恩他的相救，并受Vincent气质感染，爱上了他。另外，Vincent的弟弟——县里的警官Bruce也同时爱上了Terry。可Vincent为什么要“种人”呢？…哦，忘了，Vincent做的腌肉是远近闻名好吃的！
