◎简　　介　

　　影片以伦敦记者Robert Torres （多格雷·斯科特 饰）来到西班牙为一本关于Josemaría Escrivá的书作资料研究为线索。在调查的过程中Robert屡屡碰壁，包括事业上和个人生活上。他发现他的父亲Manolo Torres（偷韦斯·本特利 饰）隐藏多年的秘密，Manolo不仅如他所言是和Josemaría出生在同一村庄，他们还是童年的好友，并且在同一家神学院求学。但最终，Josemaría选择将生命贡献给他的信仰，而Manolo投身西班牙内战，两人分道扬镳。在战争中，Manolo因为美丽的匈牙利革命者Ildiko（邦女郎欧嘉·柯瑞兰寇 饰）不能回应其爱情而怒火中烧。

　　《圣徒秘录》由美国、西班牙、阿根廷投资，制作费用3500万美元，由曾因《战火屠城》、《战火浮生》两度荣获奥斯卡提名的导演罗兰·约菲执导。影片的故事聚焦在宗教团体Opus Dei的创始人Josemaría Escrivá身上——Opus Dei，主业社团，是属于天主教旗下的一个自治社团。《达芬奇密码》中对其有所涉及，不过书中以电影的描写颇被人诟病，有人指责其充满“事实的错误”并且“反基督教”。而Josemaría Escrivá则因为精英主义、古怪的宗教仪式实践以及政治上的右派倾向，一直以来也是个备受争议的人物。
