简　　介  

　　孤儿大卫·科波菲尔（弗雷迪·巴塞洛缪 Freddie Bartholomew饰）童年时代命运悲惨，在出生前就失去了父亲，母亲克拉拉（伊丽莎白·阿兰 Elizabeth Allan饰）改嫁与摩德斯东先生（巴兹尔·拉思伯恩 Basil Rathbone饰）结婚。凶狠贪婪的继父很快暴露了其恶毒的真面目，小大卫受尽他的百般折磨与虐待。大卫历经艰辛，克服了种种困难，终于成为维多利亚时代著名的作家。
　　本部好莱坞著名导演乔治·库克执导的1935年影片《大卫·科波菲尔》，根据英国小说家查尔斯·狄更斯经典同名小说改编。制片人塞尔兹尼克说服了疑虑重重的米高梅公司老板L.梅耶来拍摄狄更斯的这部小说。本片呈现出1930年代早期电影的严谨制作和豪华明星阵容，荣获第八届奥斯卡最佳电影、最佳导演和最佳剪辑提名，第三届威尼斯电影节金狮奖提名。
