　　影片改编自当今美国著名小说家约翰·格里沙姆(John Grisham)的畅销作品《逃离圣诞》(Skipping Christmas)。故事描写一对美国夫妇，路德·克拉克(蒂姆o艾伦饰)与诺拉(杰米·李·柯蒂斯饰)在圣诞节前夕作出了一个“惊人”的决定--今年不过圣诞节。他们打算在圣诞期间去加勒比海旅游。这样一来，不但能痛痛快快地享受久违的二人世界，同时还能节省一年一度“无聊透顶”的节日开支。
