简　　介  

　　汉考克（Jason Gedrick饰）与丹尼（Kiefer Sutherland饰）是高中的老同学。毕业后，现实与理想的差距让他们陷入悲愤之中。汉考克在高中时是人人瞩目的篮球明星，但上大学后学业成绩并不理想。他回到家乡，成为了一位警察，渐渐地变得默默无闻。汉考克非常苦恼，害怕他的女友玛丽在事业上超过自己，最后离自己而去。
　　丹尼则是个学霸，大家都认为他日后会成为一位出色的政客。毕业后的他，与他刁蛮任性的老婆贝芙（Meg Ryan饰）一起回了老家，打算开创事业。在圣诞节与父母一次短暂的团聚后，母亲告诉丹尼，他的父亲快要死了。悲伤，加上帮助一位流浪汉消耗了他不少的积蓄，他感觉自己的生活无以为继，开始逃避所有问题。然而，贝芙让他振作了起来，之后，他们一起开了一家便利店。
　　就在那时，汉考克正与她女友在店旁的停车场吵架。为阻止抢劫犯，汉考克不小心用枪杀死了丹尼并伤及了贝芙。汉考克的精神濒临崩溃……
