　　由英、美两国联合制作，在美国的有线电视台首播然后才在各地电影院推出公映的另类童话片，将传统的《白雪公主》故事改拍成黑暗、阴沉和血腥的哥德式恐怖片，主角也变成了西格尔内．维弗饰演的狠心后母。她因为从魔镜中知道继女儿竟然比她还漂亮，乃用毒苹果加害继女，并用各种巫术魔法将她折磨。全片在捷克等东欧国家的森林实景拍摄，映象风格具有浓厚的中世纪色彩，流露出一种阴冷的邪恶气氛。导演迈克尔．科恩与女主角都表现出色，分饰父女的萨姆．尼尔和吉尔．贝洛对比之下较弱。
