◎简 介
来自孤山的矮人们再造了他们那片故土的富庶，但是现如今不得不面对的一个问题是，他们释放出了那头可怕的恶龙－－史矛戈，来攻击长湖镇这些手无寸铁的男人，女人和孩子们。

黑暗在逐步升级的矛盾冲突中聚合，矮人，精灵和人类这些不同的种族必须做出决定－－是要联合起来，还是选择被摧毁。当五大军团交战之刻，比尔博意识到他是在为自己和朋友们的生命战斗。
花絮
.影片在圣迭戈动漫展宣传前夜，一大票粉丝在场馆外打地铺以便第二天能抢到座位。深夜里，影片的两位演员李·佩斯与安迪·瑟金斯神奇现身，与粉丝合影并给他们签名。
.影片中精灵王瑟兰迪尔的坐骑是一头麋鹿，事实上它是由一头名叫Moose的马儿扮演的。
.很多演员们把片中的道具留下作纪念。弗里曼拿走了比尔博的佩剑和假耳，阿米蒂奇拿走了原版的兽咬剑，李·佩斯也把他的精灵剑带回了家。
.凯特·布兰切特尽管在三部曲中都有戏份，但她真正在片场拍摄的档期只有8天。
