本教材是面向全国高职高专旅游类专业的英语教材，同时也可作为旅游业从业人员和外事接待人员以及跨国旅游人员的自学教材和工具书。
本教材按照旅游活动分为八章，每章分别包含不同的情景任务，每个情景任务包含【任务布置】Task Assignment、【词汇准备】Vocabulary Building、【常用句型】Practical Sentences、【情景对话】Situational Dialogue(s)和【知识拓展】Learning More五部分。
本教材主要具备如下特点：
