本书依据教育部制定的《大学英语教学指南》（2015）的近期新要求，并按照《全国大学英语四、六级考试改革方案》以及 2015 年教育部大学英语考试委员会公布的六级考试新题型，遴选靠前外报刊杂志、书籍等多种媒体上的各类题材文章，精心编写而成。全书选用了4套近期新的大学英语考试六级听力真题，并编写了8个单元的模拟听力试题，每个单元提供两套模拟听力试题，每套试题总时长大约30分钟，题型接近按照大学英语六级考试的近期新听力题型编写。真题和模拟试题均配有答案和听力原文。所有录音材料均可“扫码听音”。
本书可作为配合大学英语主教材使用的听力教材，也可以用于大学英语六级考试的考前应试训练。

刘须明，博士，英语教授，曾任教于东南大学外国语学院，主要教授英语专业本科生和研究生课程，是东南大学校级聘任的教学督导，对大学英语教学使用教材、教学方案以及四、六级考试熟悉。目前在东南大学成贤学院基础部担任部长，并分管学院的大学英语课程教学。曾主编《大学英语四级口语考试训练教程》（清华大学出版社2018）；《大学英语六级备考宝典》、《大学英语六级口语考试训练教程》（清华大学出版社2020）。
