Li Yang著的《Linguistic Truth-Valued Concept Lattice》 belongs to the research category of the mathematical bases and applications of artificial intelligence with uncertainty, which aims to establish a kind of mathematical model directly analyzing and handling uncertainty linguistic information.We expect the book to be useful for AI research and as a reference book for the research on theory and application of concept lattice. This book may be used as a text book for graduate students in the relevant areas. The book is divided into three parts.
Part I (Chapter 1) provides the academic background of this book and presentresearch status of concept lattice.
Part II (Chapter 2-- Chapter 4) introduces the theoretical research of linguistic truth-valued concept lattice. Concretely, the mathematical model of linguistic truth-valued concept lattice is established in Chapter 2, in which the matrix constructing method is proposed, the non-numerical matrix operations are defined and some properties are talked about; reduction methods of linguistic truth-valued concept lattice are proposed in Chapter 3, where attribute reduction methods and object reduction methods of linguistic truth-valued concept lattice based on attributes set and objects set are studied and their reduction algorithms are presented; distributed computation and parallel processing of linguistic truth-valued concept lattice are proposed in Chapter 4, where representation algorithm of extended linguistic truth-valued formal context is given, and the decomposition operation and combination operation of linguistic truth-valued concept lattice are presented.
Part III(Chapter 5--Chapter 6) introduces the application study of linguistic truth-valued concept lattice. Concretely, uncertainty reasoning based on linguistic truth-valued concept lattice are proposed in Chapter 5, where according to the relation between the extent and intent of the formal concept and approximation theory of sets,internal approximate uncertainty reasoning method and external approximate uncertainty reasoning method are given and their rationality and the relationship between them are talked about; two kinds of decision models based on linguistic truth-valued concept lattice are proposed in Chapter 6, the multi-target decision model and single-target decision model based on linguistic truth-valued concept lattice are given, the decision rules extracting algorithms are presented and some properties of decision rules are talked about; furthermore, the intelligent disease diagnosis system created based on the decision concept lattice is applied into the medical field, which will be regarded as a auxiliary tool for doctors' diagnoses.
