周士勤、董东谋主编的《大学英语（全国高等职业教育十三五规划教材）》在关注量的积累的同时，更在意学生质的提升。每单元围绕一个主题进行编写，所选主题贴近学生生活，关注时代热点，反映时代节奏，传递国际文化的信息，具有一定的深意。主题内容对话部分短小实用、好读好练；课文部分篇幅不长，难度不大，朗朗上口，易于掌握，通过小故事悟出大道理，或青春，或励志，或守信，或感恩，或知书达理，或明辨是非，具有很深的教育意义。

本教材还包含3个附录。附录I为单元的对话、课文译文及习题答案，目的是解决学生在提前预习、自学时遇到的疑问或困惑，并在作业练习时自我校正。附录II为英语中常用的不规则动词表，便于学生记忆、查用。附录III对常用词汇进行归类，该部分由常见基本词汇和常见专业词汇组成。常见基本词汇都是学生在日常口语交际中最常用的，口语表达中必备的基本词汇；常见专业词汇提供了各个不同专业常用的专业词汇，以满足不同专业学生的职业需求和学习需要，也进一步体现本教材为职业教育服务的特色。
