本教材第一版自2012年8月出版以来，受到了全国高职高专院校广大师生及物流企业读者的好评。为适应物流业和供应链飞速发展的需要以及高职高专专业英语教学改革的不断深化，曾娴、李卫平等对《实用物流专业英语(第3版十二五职业教育国家规划教材)》进行了修订。
修订后教材由十个单元组成，每一单元由三个部分构成：
第一部分(Part I)，首先简明扼要地对单元主旨做理论及概念性表述，随后逐句逐段地将其翻译成中文，帮助学生正确地理解其内容实质，起导读作用。接着“相关链接”(Related Link)部分从英文原版资料中摘选一篇阅读短文，以强化各单元的主题思想。
第二部分(PartⅡ)，根据本单元专题内容，编写紧扣专题的“对话示例”(Sample Communications)，力求将原文内容改编成比较简单、实用的对话，每个“对话示例”都编排了两段对话及与之相关的练习，随后选配一篇“案例链接”(Case Link)，供参阅之用。
第三部分(Part Ⅲ)，精选与本单元专题密切相关的两篇文章，经过改写，构建了“实用阅读”(Practical Readings)部分，设计为800～1000字的两篇独立的课文。本部分不仅对课文中的重点和难点词组及句子做了中文注释，帮助学生正确阅读和理解，还配以适量的练习题，以测试学生的阅读能力。本部分最后增设了300～500字的短文，供学生课后自选阅读。
