涂伶俐、丁小龙主编的《英语口译教程（第2版）》的编排以培养学生的口译能力内核为宗旨，并依照口译教学理论的发展，将构成口译能力的素质和技能细分为若干模块，逐一加以训练。本书的组织方式是模拟现实生活，设置15个教学单元。每个单元聚焦于职场生活或社会生活的两个相关方面。
本书为2011年初版教程的修订版本，在内容方面替换了原书的大部分陈旧过时材料，体现了口译的新闻性和时效性；与此同时，亦保留了初版的全景构架以及每个单元内部的编排方式，从而达到以循序渐进的方式引导学习者系统性、阶段性地提高口译综合能力的效果。
