周伟和编著的《初级英语演讲进阶--从口头表达到书面表达(附光盘)》的总体指导思想是：由口头表达过渡到书面表达，再由书面表达上升到英语演讲。

本书既是演讲实训教材，也是写作指导用书，可一书多用。在使用本书时，不必全部内容都逐一讲解，也不必按教材的编排顺序讲解，应根据各自的实际需要自主选择内容或调整顺序。
