The 15th international conference on photosynthesis was successfully held on 22-27 August 2010, in Beijing, China.Under the conference theme, "photosynthesis research for food, fuel and future", a total of 24 chapters were collected in this proceeding which contained twenty-three sections, each sectiort representing one of the topics covered by plenary lectures and sessions at the conference. Therefore, the papers contained in this proceeding include all aspects of photosynthesis. We thank all conference participants and in particular those whose chapters are published here.
