Art made with yourself in the starring role, complete with dressing up, alter egos, and role-playing (and perhaps aided by the latest digital techniques) is a known phenomenon in photography. A number of artists have become world-famous in this way, and the artist Chi Peng is a prime example of a young photographer who is also masterfully manipulating this method. His determination to tell stories about his growing pains and those of his generation, already manifested itself during his studies at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing, from where he graduated in 2005.
