崔秀敏主编的《简明实用英语(第2册第2版)》是一本供高职高专英语教学使用的教材。自2006年出版以来，因教材编写秉持实用性、针对性以及科学性的原则而受到了广大读者的欢迎。为了更好地满足当前高职高专英语教学的需要，此次修订在保持教材内容完整性及实用性的前提下将原《读写教程》与《听说教程》合二为一，对单元模块进行了重新排序，在保证内容完整性的同时更强调英语教学的科学性与连贯性。增加了涉及职场礼仪、企业文化的新内容，听说练习更加注重提高学生的英语交际能力。

崔秀敏主编的《简明实用英语(第2册第2版)》系列教材是根据教育部颁发的《高职高专教育英语课程教学基本要求》编写的，包括《简明实用英语——读写教程》、《简明实用英语——听说教程》和《简明实用英语——教师用书》（每一种分为3册）。《简明实用英语(第2册)》为《简明实用英语——读写教程（第2册）》。《简明实用英语(第2册)》共有十个单元，每个单元由：Section I. Intensive Reading（精读课文）、Section II. Grammar（语法精讲）、Section III. Applied Writing（实用文体写作）和Section IV. Reading Practice（泛读与快速阅读）四部分组成。

《简明实用英语(第2册)》可作为高职高专三年制或两年制公共英语教学教材，也可作为其他高等院校学生的参考读物。
