侯志强、孙晓明编著的《粉砂质海岸航道淤积重现期（英文版）》是对淤泥沙滩淤积重现期的研究，为英文版。通过大量的实测资料，分析了研究海区的自然条件、泥沙环境、泥沙水力特性，研究了大风骤淤的特点。指出大风过程是个随机量，分析了“一定的风况形成一定的波况，一定的波况产生一定的含沙量和相应的泥沙运动，一定的泥沙运动形态在一定的波、流动力作用下又会产生一定的航道淤积”的过程，指出淤积是随机的，淤积量的随机根源是风的随机性。
