袁毅敏编著的《基于体特征和致使关系的英语动结式事件结构研究》主要关注英语动结式的四大句法语义特点：第一，在动结式中，结果短语描述主语还是宾语？第二，为什么一些不及物动词可以在英语动结式中表现出及物特征？第三，为什么一些动词（如渐生题旨动词和表示表面接触的动词）可以与多个宾语搭配形成不同的动结式，而另一些动词（如状态变化动词）则不能？第四，动结式中动词与结果短语的关系如何？为什么有这样的关系？本研究在前人的基础上提出了基于体特征和致使关系的事件结构，为英语动结式的四大句法语义特点提出了合理的解释。

袁毅敏编著的《基于体特征和致使关系的英语动结式事件结构研究》为2015年四川省社科联规划专项课题“基于语料库和实证研究的现代汉语致使事件语义类型学研究”(SCl5WY013)、中央高校基本科研业务费项目“英汉事件表征的认知实证对比研究”(ZYGX2014J125)和“从英语动结式角度探究句法语义界面”(ZYGX2010J138)的阶段性成果，并得到电子科技大学青年科研启动经费项目“英语动词分类”(Y02002011301012)资助。
